Otikos publishing house

Otikos Publishing House has built a small, evolving store here around the ideas, texts, and scholarly works we publish. Otikos treats the form of the book as part of the reading experience: a bounded object, encountered deliberately and read at its own pace.

Our premiere catalog offering (The Testament of Simon the Mage) is published in physical editions only. Digital editions are reserved for companion works, critical materials, and reader resources. Alongside print editions and research materials offered, we will soon also have original music downloads and a limited selection of related items, including T-shirts, physical bookmarks, and other occasional merchandise.

These additions will arrive as they are ready—not as generic promotional clutter, but as thoughtfully made extensions of the work. Check back as the store develops, or explore what is available now.

A LOST CHRISTIAN COUNTER-NARRATIVE

The Testament of Simon the Mage restores a forgotten world of Samarian memory, Magi, Mary, Photini, Helen, Peter, and Rome—telling the story from the side that later tradition taught readers to dismiss. It is a strange, intimate, and unsettling alternative history of the early Jesus movement.

A QUESTION OF PRESERVATION?

Simon the Mage survives in the conventional Christian record largely as an accusation: the magician rebuked by Peter, the archetype of spiritual corruption, the name behind “simony.” The Testament of Simon the Mage enters the disputed world behind that verdict. Through a richly portrayed counter-narrative of Samarian memory, Magi tradition, rival apostles, visionary women, and competing interpretations of Jesus, it restores Simon as a participant in an early movement not yet fixed into a single authorized story. This is not a demand for belief, but an invitation to reconsider how religious memory is made—by conflict, selection, and the voices that endure.

TTSM is a historically provocative Christian study text that invites churches to re-examine inherited accounts of early Christianity with Berean courage, scriptural seriousness, and intellectual honesty.

Receive eagerly. Examine carefully. Decide faithfully.
